The Tilapia eggs are collected from the breeding stock and maintained in temperature controlled and filtered, fresh running water until larvae are produced. After a growing period, each fish is manually inspected and separated by sex. Unlike all commercial conventional production systems, no hormones are utilized to provoke a sex change. Population density in each pond is controlled and water quality is monitored at all times.
To preserve product quality, all harvested fish are transported live to the processing plant in tank trucks equipped with oxygen and refrigerated water.
